John Lorenz

Team Director

John has been involved with MMTT for over 10 years. He is a certified race director and helps to organize the 3 annual events hosted by the team. John has competed in all distances of triathlon for over 20 years and has completed 9 Ironman distance races.

Triathlon has been a family affair for the Lorenz family as all members have exhibited a passion for the sport. John’s wife, Tracy, has also competed for over 20 years and has completed 7 Ironman triathlons.

Tyler Woodward

Elite Team Head Coach

Tyler's multisport career began in high school when he ran both Track & Field and Cross Country, while also playing hockey at Naperville North. He continued on to run at Carthage College before transferring to Eastern Illinois and founding their Triathlon Club. He received his Master's Degree from North Central College while also working as the Graduate Assistant for the Swim & Dive Team and competing for their Triathlon Club.

With over 10 years in the sport, Tyler now races professionally and coaches athletes of all levels. With his background in collegiate racing and recruiting, Tyler is no stranger to the draft-legal style of triathlon and has first-hand experience in both recruiting and competing in collegiate club and NCAA making him a great resource for athletes looking to compete in college.

Maggie Feikes

Elite Team Coach

Maggie grew up involved in a multitude of sports before choosing to swim and play water polo in high school. She went on to swim collegiately at Carroll University and coached both park district and club swim teams while attending school. She completed her first triathlon in 2013 and has been racing ever since; working her way from sprints to the 70.3 distance. Her competitive swim background and her own success as an athlete brings just the right skill-set to our team helping to develop athletes both in and out of the water.

Ryan Giuliano

Elite Team Coach

Ryan is one of the most heralded age group triathletes in the United States. He has been the top ranked USAT triathlete in his age group for the past several years. In 2016, Ryan won the 30-34 age group 70.3 World Championship and has finished top 5 in his age group at the Ironman World Championships in Kona for multiple years. He was named the overall 30-34 age group All World Champion by Ironman in 2016.

 

Ryan has coached athletes for several years helping them achieve success at all distances. His experience as a collegiate runner, an elite duathlete and elite age group short / long distance triathlete gives him the vast experience to help athletes at all levels succeed.

Eric Ott

Youth Team Coach

Eric has been involved with MMTT (either with his own kids or coaching) since 2019, but his roots run far deeper.  His personal background is in swimming and running. He has been involved in triathlon since he was in high school, but became serious in the sport in college after competing in XC/Track and field at Miami University, even dabbling in draft legal racing.

 

His passion for coaching has ranged from coaching adults in triathlon to high school XC/Track and field, but his all-time favorite is coaching youth triathlon.  He instills having fun, building friendships, and developing triathlon skills. The youth team is truly a family affair, as it is a sport that his whole family participates in.
